Made these today wth my 8-year old! But I used green food coloring instead of red, chose different sprinkles and used more vanilla instead of using peppermint extract. Yummy and pretty! Here’a a link to the original recipe, with pictures: http://www.myshineproject.com/2011/11/handmade-holidaycookie-pinwheels.html
Holiday Pinwheel Cookies
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
1 tablespoon red food coloring.( I highly recommend the gel variety. You can buy it at any craft store. It is much brighter and you can use less)
Powdered sugar, for rolling out dough
3 tablespoons milk
Directions:
Sift together the flour, salt and baking powder and set aside.

This recipe was adapted from the Six Sisters Stuff website… I made it last night, and my husband and 8 year old LOVED it!
Easy Hawaiian Crockpot Chicken
2 chicken breasts (fresh or frozen; I used frozen)
1 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 of a 20 oz can of pineapple tidbits, drained
2 cups of cooked rice to serve with the meal
Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot. Cover with barbecue sauce. Top with drained pineapple tidbits. Cook on low for 4-5 hours. Take 2 forks and shred the chicken while still in the crockpot. Let simmer another 15 minutes or so. Ladle over rice.
